In my last post, I offered for Dell Schanze a forum to state his case and answer some questions I had. I received this email from Dell Schanze and with his permission, I am posting his comments, unedited:
Ok I’ll explain some of your requests slightly:
How is the media responsible? Seems quite obvious to many but ok for those that have no idea; the media blanketed all of Utah with stories of me speeding 100mph while slaloming children and then pulling a gun and threatening “concerned neighbors”. This story is not even remotely true. The fact is they don’t have a single “witness” at all claiming to have identified me doing that and to call 3 extremely angry road ragers coming at you cussing and swearing armed with a deadly weapon “concerned neighbors” is also completely false. The truth is I was charged with something that isn’t a crime that I didn’t do and even bad guys labeled “victim” admit I wasn’t angry, they never saw a gun and I didn’t threaten them. These completely false charges and the media blowing them completely out of proportion instantly caused a 40-50% downturn in sales. That is definitely not my fault so trying to say it was my management or something else is a lie. Had the media run the true story something along the lines of “Armed road ragers attack on handicapped celebrity and children foiled; police charge victim with crime” none of this would have happened. More than one attacker is considered a lethal threat, armed with a deadly weapon is considered a lethal threat. You have a right to be prepared to defend yourself against obvious lethal threats; you are also legally obligated to defend your children. You also have a legal right to defend your property with anything less than lethal force. What they charged me with is NOT against the law; the fact that I didn’t even do it is beside the point. Their stories are absolutely false and yes they were 100% responsible for the immediate downturn in sales that followed.
Where do you exhibit hate? Suggesting an honorable person like me is a liar is pretty hateful. Looking for the negative and blowing things way past reality such as saying we were not there to help you is also hateful. There is negativity and quickness to find fault all through your write up. I can feel the hate & contention flowing off of you. I’m very open to you demonstrating there is a bright side to you though. It is one thing to have a gripe; it is another thing to attack a person and their morals without ever working it out with them first. Posting something like that when you don’t know what you are talking about and don’t have all the facts is just wrong. What kind of a sicko posts negative things like that about a person they don’t know without even talking with the person first? That is a serious intent to be harmful instead of looking on the bright side.
Why does my service continue? Because I don’t break promises! None of the specifics matter at all. Look at all the companies jumping in there saying they want to honor my warrantee. Also if I find that this truly isn’t the case I might very well start another computer store just to ensure my promises are honored. You can claim I had nothing to do with it all you like and that is why it doesn’t count but your logic is in error. Either the service continues or it doesn’t. I like to call it a miracle myself.
The mistakes made that closed TAC were made by the evil media and the evil people that are so quick to follow them. I would do nothing different; I didn’t fail any more than Jesus did for getting himself killed. I did what was right, spoke the truth openly and did everything I could to be an example to the community. How the satanic media portrayed the stories is not my sin. I had a specific calling from God. I believe it was fulfilled completely with the death of everything good. Because of people’s wickedness they killed something Totally Awesome. Why would I do things different when they were Totally Awesome?? I don’t serve the God of money, I knew very well that my outgoing goodness would be hated by those that follow satan and therefore affect my business. That wasn’t the point though, I was dedicated to be the only one that would actually stand up and die in the name of honor. Evil people have only harmed themselves. I wasn’t in it for the money, I was in it for the piles of treasure I built in heaven for loving unconditionally and doing everything I could to help everyone I came in contact with. Your hate is your sin. I know who I am and where I’m going. I am quite proud of myself for being the brunt of all your evils. Bring it on, satan and all his angels cannot take the super out of SUPERDELL no matter how many lies you tell. I quite enjoy saying things that make the evil revile and the holy smile.
Love, Dell Schanze

Wow - what a fascinating dialogue we've got going on here. I'm keeping my eyes peeled on this one for sure.
I think you've been very fair in the way you've addressed Dell, Tim. While I wish him no ill, I do think he needs to consider carefully how to proect himself in the public eye and how to run his businesses that he may have in the future.
