The Hershey Company (NYSE: HSY) is proud to host an exhibition track and field meet between members of Team USA and Team China featuring world's fasted man, Justin Gatlin. Today, however, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency informed Gatlin that Gatlin tested positive for testosterone or other prohibited steroids.
Gatlin is cooperating with the USADA, though he maintains that he never knowingly took any banned substance or gave anyone else permission to administer such a substance to him. Gatlin has previously tested negative and was outspoken about cleaning up the sport to maintain its credibility.
This news comes on the heels of reports that Floyd Landis, winner of the Tour de France, also tested positive for steroids.
There's not news yet on whether or not Gatlin will still appear at the Hershey exhibition.
