
Well, last night I missed another night of posting to my blog, and today, I hardly got any work done at all. Why? Because my Comcast Corporation (Public, NASDAQ:CMCSA)cable service was out once again!
Hey, I'm forgiving enough. Lately the weather's been awfully crazy and storms with wind can knock down utility lines...but we've had issues where the cable was down virtually every night by 10PM. I'd race through whatever I needed to do in the evening - like Cinderella trying to have a nice time at the ball before the clock struck midnight.
Today's recorded "outage message" didn't even offer an explanation, and non-human apologies always seem a bit hollow. I hung up in despair and waited a total of 22 hours before the cable modem lights started blinking again.
All this would be annoying enough - but to top it off, Comcast is forever trying to convince me to give up my regular telephone service in favor of its high-speed internet VOIP service. I suppose they figure this way I can be sure to stop calling to complain about the cable being down.
